Talk: Beginner's Guide to Foreman + VMWare ESXi

Thursday, 2 June, 2016 -
19:30 to 21:00

This month's talk will be an overview for beginners, on the topic of Foreman, with VMWare ESXi

Foreman is a systems management solution for coordinating the provision, management and monitoring of physical and virtual computers.

VMWare ESXi is a type-1 hypervisor, which runs directly on bare-metal instead of in a separate host operating system, and provides virtualization for guest environments.

This talk will include a live demonstration of use of Foreman to manage VMWare ESXi instances, and is aimed at power-users, system maintainers and developers who would like to get an introduction to these technologies.

The meeting will be in the back room of the Southsider Pub, West Richmond Street, Edinburgh. The talk should kick off shortly after 7:30pm. If you would like to eat, please get your order in before the talk starts as the kitchen closes soon after 8pm.

After the talk, there will be time for socializing, and a chance to catch up with attendees.
