Hi,

There's a couple of posts going in the Enterprise Services UNIX Section
here at the University of Edinburgh that I thought would be of interest
to EdLUG members.

Kind regards,

Mark

Hi all,

We are looking for two people to join us working in the IS ITI
Enterprise Services section. Both posts are grade 6. Details follow:

Unix Systems Administrator x 2
University of Edinburgh - IT Infrastructure Division (ITI)
Location:	Edinburgh	Salary:	£26,537 to £30,738 per annum	Hours:	Full
Time	Contract Type:	Permanent Placed on:	6th September 2016	Closes:
10th October 2016	Job Ref:	037102

We are looking for two people to join us in one of the world’s leading
research university’s core IT infrastructure teams. This is an exciting
role using enterprise technologies in a challenging technical
environment. You will be working in a team responsible for the
provision of mission critical IT platforms on which the majority of core
University services rely. If DevOps, SANs, VMware, Linux, Puppet, git
and creating RPMs are in your bag, we want to hear from you.

You will have good communication skills, experience of working as part
of a team and have a good working knowledge of Linux and Unix systems.
Experience of working with large scale storage infrastructure and
application networking technologies would be desirable, as would
knowledge of Perl, Javascript, Python, Ruby, web development frameworks
and/or C. The ability to pay attention to detail and work in a
methodical and organised manner is essential.
As well as getting to work with lots of cool technology, the post offers
a competitive salary, generous annual leave entitlement and a defined
benefits pension scheme.

The posts are available from 1st November 2016 or as soon as possible
thereafter.

The posts are offered on an open-ended and full-time (35 hours per week)
basis.

Closing date: Monday 10th October 2016, 5pm GMT.
